G & L Group of companies is fully committed to establishing
and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment throughout
the operation that will meet and/or exceed all legislative
requirements.
We will operate in an environment where “Doing a job
right is the safe way” and will strive to cultivate
a proactive consciousness in all employees and a sense of
personal responsibility in the efforts to prevent accidental
loss and maintain a healthy environment.
In keeping with this commitment, our Health and Safety Policy
includes the following principles:
- Management has the responsibility for preventing occupational
accidents, injuries and illness. This responsibility extends
through all levels of management.
- All employees have a personal responsibility to work
safely and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment
as required, and to contribute to the achievement of a high
level of performance in production and safety.
- Management and supervision are responsible for ensuring
that safe and healthy working practices and procedures are
established, and that employees receive the orientation,
training and retraining required to enable them to safely
perform the work they are assigned.
All employees, visitors, contractors and contractors’
employees shall comply with:
- Applicable government health and safety legislation;
- Our health and safety policies and procedures, general
safety rules and established safe work practices.
Safety is a day-to-day responsibility of every manager, supervisor
and employee of the G & L’s Group of companies.
Through a well-managed, committed effort, we will succeed
in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, which will benefit
all.
All employees at all levels of the organization are expected
to accept responsibility for achieving the objectives stated
in this health and safety policy.
In all work-related situations, priority will be given to
protecting our employees, customers and visitors from illness,
injury and risk, and to preserving materials and assets against
the risk of fire, damage, and other losses.
It is by working together, and by giving the most careful
attention to the management of health and safety, that we
will meet our shared objectives of a working environment,
free from actual and potential hazards. Our employees are
required to understand and comply with our Health & Safety
Program, Job Safe Policy, Health & Safety Committee meeting
minutes and all other related Health & Safety information.
Employees are responsible for working in a safe and healthy
manner, and are encouraged to adopt a safe and healthy lifestyle
on and off the job.
Our goal is to make an effective contribution to workplace
related health and safety. It is important for all of us to
value this so that our company stands as an example of excellence
to our staff and those we serve.
